Serangan Bali Surfing Adventure

Serangan Island is directly opposite the airport in Bali and is on the other side of Bali than Kuta. Pull off the Bypass Ngurah Rai past Pedungan and cross the causeway onto the island. You will have to pay some extortion to get onto the island. You follow the dirt track around the coastline.

There are a few warungs at the beach. Because Serangan is on the east side of Bali it will work in the off season from November/December to about May. It can get very crowded but it is a very good wave. There are two discernible channels on each side of the main peak. It can get gnarly when it gets big so watch out.

Serangan in Bali has rights and lefts breaking on a coral reef that can be sharp. The best tide is a mid tide and the best winds are from northwest to southwest. It may have the alternate name of Turtle island. Serangan is best suited for intermediate surfers because it can get too big sometimes. There is also a rip that can suck you out to the left.
