Surfing North Morocco

This video above shows some Moroccan Surfers from Rabat surfing in their local break, the harbour of Rabat and at Sale, just up the road and also at Oued Cherrat. They are local barbers and have a shop in the city and surf whenever they get the time. You will get a good look at the surf around Rabat and the lifestyles of the young Moroccan surfers.

We start our North Morocco surf safari at the beach of Safi. Then Move on to Oualidia and Sidi Abed beach just north of there. Sidi Bouzid has a good beach as does El Jadida and the nearby Jack Beach. Paloma has a decent sandy beach with good waves and move up the coast to Zeneta, another good beach break with rights and lefts waves. The city port of Mohmmedia has the beaches of Monica Beach and Sablettes Beach right nearby. Near Sablettes you will find the right point break of Pont-Blondin.

The right point wave of Bouznika has a great right hand wave. To get to Oued Cherrat, Go straight after bouznika and just after, turn left to take the path to the beach. Skhirat is on the way to to Casablanca from Rabat. It is also near Oued Cherrat and Bouznika. Temara Beach is fifteen kilometers south of Rabat, between the Miramar Restaurant, and Guivil's Beach.

Rabat, as you will see in the video has waves inside the harbor as well as both sides of the breakwalls and nearby Sale. Larache has a left hander on sand in the harbor mouth which needs lots of swell to break good. To get to Briech, take the road from Tangiers to Assila, and after thirty kilometers on the road you will go past a small village called "Briech". a
