The waves in Nicaragua are mostly beach breaks with a few reefs. The airfare to get there is around $800. You can get some accommodation for around $8 per night. There is a surf resort there called the Popoyo at Playa Guasacate and as most of the better waves are accessible by boat this may be the best choice. Nicaragua surt trips will include punchy beach breaks, non-stop off shore winds, and pumping reefs.

Some of the best waves in Nicaragua are in the Rivas Province on the Pacific coast. Surfers of all abilities and skill levels can pull into hollow beach breaks or massive point breaks. The winter or rainy season lasts from June to October and brings large south swells and perfect uncrowded waves. Swells from the Pacific average from about three to five feet with bigger swells coming in regularly. During the dry season from December to April the off-shore winds blow stronger.
