El Bolson is famous as a place to escape from the rat race of the city. El Bolson relies on tourism for much of its income. There are lots of artists in the El Bolson area. It is possible to hitch hike in the El Bolson and they say it is pretty safe and there are no hostile things. To get to Trelew it will take more than fourteen days by bus and longer if you are hitch hiking there. The main attraction is the wildlife along the coast. There is the biggest penguin colony ever. There are millions of the things. They come back every year. In Gaiman there is a town where all the descendants are welsh. It is bizarre and you can get a welsh tea in patagonia. In the main street of Gaiman is a theme park made out of garbage such as bottles , beer cans, pipe, and plastic junk.

Buses are the only real alternative to flying if you want to travel around Argentina but they are not cheap. The region of El Calafata is way down in the deep south of patagonia. Along the road there are shrines to all sorts of miraculous happenings. El Calafate is a frontier town that relies on tourists for its existence. It is a special place, a mystical place. People read and fish in El Calafata for entertainment. The main reason people come to El Calafata is to go to the Parque Nacional Los Glacial. A boat can take you along the coast right up to the foot of the glacier. The boat trip is spectacular but the best way to see the glacier is by foot. Take a guided tour onto the glacier but watch out for the crevasses. The trek can last for up to three hours right along the glacier. The patagonian glacier moves about seven feet a day. The cave formations under the glacier are an unusual blue colour that comes from the ice compacting into crystals over thousands of years.
