The seventies Hippy Trail 9

Delhi, India

Today we saw a brawl in the street that nearly turned into a riot. I think it started in the bus. Either a pickpocket or something like that. A few punches were thrown and people were crowding around and yelling and screaming. Everyone was panicking and someone threw some wood and one guy had an iron bar but did not use it. It was really ugly, the people were really aggressive but I guess you have to be sometimes to survive in this rat race.

Well, about insurance, why dont i get as much back as I put in? That is plain stealing. It is not the money. It is the principle. It is able to take out after three years, I think so. So go and get right up them , the bastards. But anyway tell me when it is finalised and I will send you an address to sent it for me to sign. Now for my next beef.
My indentures: Let me know when you have them back and send me a copy of them plus maybe a letter stating that it is genuine or something like that.
Have you got any of the films back yet. I sent a lot of them from Singapore, so you should have them by now, please tell me how they turned out and please look after them carefully. I have been taking some movies everywhere I have been and am sending them home.

I might get a job as soon as I can because I am running a bit short of dough. I might be able to get a job in Iran(Persia) on an oil well - really good bread. If I do not get a job there I should be able to find work in Europe somewhere, probably Germany or Netherlands. do not know yet. I will do anything. My surfboard is at Amsterdam so I hope to surf in France and Spain and maybe Morocco. It is supposed to work around August September and Biarritz is supposed to be unreal. Oh well, that is another day, I hope. ( Continued next page ...)

Delhi Resources

The Hotel Ajanta at Pahar Ganj is a reasonably priced hotel to stay at when you are in Delhi. It is in a fairly quiet location and the rooms are quite nice. Another hotel that is recommended by adventure travellers is the Hotel Anoop. And still another good hotel is the Likir House which is in Lajpat Nagar.
To travel to Mumbai from Delhi you can either get the cheaper seats which are called SL, or the 3A which are a better class and cost a bit more. A lot of the trains can be booked out so make sure that you plan ahead and get your booking in nice and early. The Punjab Mail and the Rajdhani go to Mumbai and are about the best. When you are getting in from the airport you can get a pre-paid taxi. Ask the police because they organise it all. You will receive a voucher and you show this to the taxi driver but you do not give it to the taxi driver until you get to where you are going. You can also book with your hotel to get a taxi from the airport and the cost will be from four hundred to five hundred rupees.
To get to Agra and the Taj Mahal from Delhi ride on the Shatabdi Express that leaves Delhi at six in the morning and arrives at Agra at eight thirty. Yes that is right - it is only a two and a half hour train trip to Agra.
