Trondheim is situated in central Norway. You can get there by plane and land at the airport at Vaernes which is 32 kilometers from the city. The airport bus runs every fifteen minutes which is very convenient. You can also get there by train or drive your own car. You can also hop on an express bus from Bergen or Oslo which depart every day.

In Trondheim take a tour through the Nidaros Cathedral or have a walk through Bakklandet. Bakklandet is the area on the east side of the Nidelva river and has very old wooden buildings that were built in the seventeenth century. If you want to take a boat trip to historic Munkholmen then take a boat from Ravnkloa. Munkholmen is a little island with a fort in Trondheim harbour and has good swimming and fabulous restaurants.

In Trondheim Norway make sure you go and visit the Kristiansen Fortress which was built around 1681. It stands like a sentinel guarding the city of Trondheim. You can see lovely views of the surrounding countryside - the fjords and the mountains. Also do not miss the Torvet or Market Square which has served Trondheim since the twelfth century. Now the markets are placed in the south end of the square. There are historic bridges and canals , take a trek in the mountains, and have a boat ride on the fjords. Trondheim is a great place to visit for that special adventure holiday.
