Stockholm Sweden Travel Adventures

Stockholm is the capital of Sweden, the main city in Scandinavia. If you go to Lake Brunswick you can see the Haga Park, the private park of the royal family. The Royal Palace in the park has the most exquisite dome that catches the last rays of the setting sun. The Haga Royal Castle and the boat dock are with walking distance of the center of town.

When in Stockholm it is compulsory to visit a museum. The underground of Stockholm is acknowledged as the world's longest art gallery at sixty two kilometers in length. Nearly every station on the Stockholm lines have works of art integrated into them. Stockholm has over seventy five museums for every taste and predilection. The Vasa Museum is renowned for having the seventeenth century ship Vasa that was revived from the bottom of the sea. The majestic and ready for action Vasa was fully restored with ropes, masts, and running rigging.

The Royal Palace has quite a few small museums such as the Skansen Museum which is an authentic old village. The Skansen focuses on popular history with the houses and buildings coming from the eigthteenth and nineteenth century. They have Nordic crafts, wild life, folk music and other historical events and exhibitions for the tourist to Stockholm. Stockholm has the coolest bar in the world. The Absolut Icebar is built in ice, complete with bar and tables.

The Stockholm Archipelago has more than 24,000 islands and you can go on a day trip by car or bus. Boat trips are available and they depart from downtown Stockholm just outsied the Grand Hotel. Gamla Stan is more than 750 years old and gives a medieval atmosphere like none else in Europe. One street is reputed to be the most narrow in the world. The Hallwylska Palatset is a private palace made in 1898 for the Count and Countess Hallwyl. The original owners collected everything from toothbrushes to pianos.
