When you visit Granada in Spain, the first place that you want to go and see is the Alhambra. It is an old moor building that has been there for centuries and inside you will see ponds and examples of the old moorish architecture with freize relief walls and colums. The reflections of the water in the sunlight dapple the walls and the artwork is too good to describe. The gardens are a treat and in the old fort you can still see the crenellated towers and the old stones still there as a reminder of ancient times and the history of Granada. The Alhambra is a series of palaces and gardens that were constructed in the fourteenth century.

The city of Granada is in the state of Andalucia in Southern Spain. The Arabs give it the name of Granada in the eighth century. You can fly into Granada airport from London or Liverpool in the UK and most capital cities should have flights. Buses go to and from Granada from Cordoba, Seville, Malaga and lot of other cities in Spain. There are daily trains from Seville, Antequera, Almeria, Madrid, Valencia, and Barcelona.

From Granada you can venture out to places such as Las Alpujarras, a bunch of old villages in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The Costa Tropical on the coast has a salubrious climate perfect for growing fruit or swimming and sunbathing. The northwester frontier has some stunning scenery and is seldom visited. Moclin is a village of white houses under a castle on a hilltop. Alhama de Granada hos hot springs for a relaxing spa and several delightful churches.
