Malta Horse Racing Adventure

The racing horses live in terraced houses in Valetta, Malta. They are trotters and there is not much room for stables. Malta is a former british colony in the mediterranean. Partners and opponents come together at the track. They train their horses every day. They import champion trotting horses from places such as Sweden. Valetta is the capital of Malta and the racers keep their horses in their houses. The dry and rocky island is too small for the horses. One thousand horses live in houses surrounding the race track. There are ramps inside and outside the building that allow the horses to get around inside the building.

Malta's most popular sport takes place at the marsa race track. The jockies are not so small and are even a bit largish. There are lots of bets put on the favourites and many are disappointed of course. Racing is a much loved sport of the maltese people. After the races, the owners only have to cross the street. Put the horses to bed and have a sleep yourself.

In the early morning the trainers look after their prized horses. They keep them in good condition. They want to win for the honour of winning the race. They keep horns in the stable to keep the bad things out of the stable. The street races are a tradition. They race the trotters through the streets of Valetta. Horses came to Malta with the Knights of malta and they stayed there. The street race is one of the oldest races and has been going for more than a hundred years. It is a bit dangerous but the young men do not think about the dangers.
