It is one of the top tourist stopovers and Sydney offers shows, theater and music. The annual jazz festival is a good example of a rich cultural event.

And you will find many out of the way spots on the water to wind down and relax after the excitement of one of the most dazzling cities in Australia if not the world. Sydney is the largest city in Australia with a population of about four million people ringing the harbour. The harbour is used by all types of boating and water transport such as the hydrofoils and the famous manly ferry.

The beautiful blue waters of Sydney Harbour are ringed with sandy coves and beaches. Many spots have scrubby trees and rugged bush. The amazing sandstone cliffs of North Head, the beaches, headlands and tidal mangroves are protected in parks and reserves and remain as natural as possible. Sydney has a number of excellent surf beaches. Some of the most well known are Cronulla, Palm Beach, Narrabeen, Coogee, Dee Why, Manly and the world famous Bondi.
