The Great Ocean Road

The great ocean road is a feast of experiences. The Otway ranges have many places to stop and explore. The winding roads will go past waterfalls and jungles. Take a walk in the lush rainforests and sit under the canopy and reflect on natures beauty. The otway lighthouse looks over bass strait and the drive takes you past the twelve apostles. With huge cliffs and roaring seas, nature has sculptured the twelve apostles. From Geelong along the great ocean road the scenery is breath taking. The great ocean road is one of the most spectacular in the world.

The coastline along the Great Ocean Road was created by strong winds and currents. Rips and the large waves of the Southern Ocean bashing against the sandstone cliffs of the Great Ocean Road made it what it is today. The Great Ocean Road is a major tourist drawcard for Victoria. It goes from Toquay and winds along the coast to Apollo Bay. From Apollo Bay you can go into the Otway Ranges to see the magnificent sights and then comes back to the coast and goes on to Port Campbell. Near Port Campbell you will find the Twelve Apostles which are sandstone pillars eroded from the nearby cliffs. Unfortunately there are no longer twelve apostles as some of them have fallen over into the sea. The Great Ocean Road runs along Victoria's south-west coast.

The Great Ocean Road of Victoria has some of the most famoust surfing breaks in Australia. Torquay is at the start of the road which have expanding surfboard and surf fashion industries. Bell's Beach is a famous surfing break for International surfing contests.
