cameron highlands malaysia
The Cameron Highlands are in the center of Malaysia and are cool and refreshing after the heat of the rest of the country. I took off from Kuala Lumpur and bought my ticket at 8 am and had to leave from the Shell Station opposite Puduraya bus station. Had breakfast at Makana's - eggs on toast(What a decadence). Then I got the crap bus to Cameron Highlands. ON the way we saw the Langkawi pushbike race go past.
There were heaps of support vehicles. The bus driver was atrocious.
Stop. Tip. If in need of toilet paper in the Cameron Highlands - just rip the wings off a butterfly. Going up the hill, we nearly crashed into a truck. Luckily arrived safely in spite of radical bus journey to the Cameron Highlands and went up the hill to Fathers Guest House. It started pouring rain when we went into town and we had to wait ages for it to stop. Gawd this writing is bland and vacuous. I am just bored. It is a tourist resort - entertainment center USA. Another place to stay in the Cameron Highlands is Twin Pines Chalet at Tanah Rata.
The second Day at the Cameron Highlands I woke up tired and grumpy , had soggy eggs for breakfast, did the crossword , watched video and did nothing. Ah, the excitement of adventure travel. Went for a walk with Maree and June to the waterfall, then followed track 8 up the hill and back down again. The jungle was nice and the track was steep. We came back and watched "Sliding Doors" with Gwyneth Paltry. Then went and had dinner - sateed Chicken with Kerri the Canadian film student and Anne the Scottish Statistician.
Two Australian guys had 2 bottle of Bundy Rum and people started drinking it. This English lady got blotto - she did not know how strong it was. Kerri , the Canadian girl arrived in the Cameron Highlands at the backpackers. She is off to the Tioman Islands tomorrow. It is supposed to be good there at this time of the year now.
Aside from the cool weather, the main attractions in the Cameron Highlands include a butterfly farm, strawberry farms, rose gardens, Chinese temple and vegetable farms. One of the most popular tourist past time in the Cameron Highlands is walking in the jungle and trekking amongst the refreshing cool forest air. Tanah Rata is the major town in the Cameron Highlands in the state of Pahang, Malaysia. Tanah rata means flat ground in the Malay language.
